February 2012 Back in September, I wrote an introductory essay for Salvatore Arancio's artist's book Wonders of the Volcano, published in a beautiful edition by NERO and Federica Schiavo Gallery in Rome. More recently, I completed a stint filling in for a "Goings-on Around Town" writer at the New Yorker, and am now back reviewing for Artforum and Time Out New York after a book-writing period. In June, I'm also currently assembling an exhibition scheduled to open at Churner & Churner in New York in April that will feature new work by Jude Broughan, Stephen Nguyen, Hanna Sandin, and Annette Wehrhahn.

June 2011 In March, I participated in the ďMonster Drawing RallyĒ fundraiser at d.u.m.b.o. arts center (dac). Contemporary Art in North America, a new illustrated survey for which I wrote the introduction, is now available from London-based publisher Black Dog (buy it from, and review it on, Amazon.com here , and take a look at my authorís page while youíre there). It also includes some excellent reprinted essays by Jerry Saltz, Martha Rosler, Jan Tumlir, and others. Currently, Iím in the early stages of writing a book for Belgian publisher Ludion (itíll appear under different imprints in other countries). Titled How to Read Contemporary Art, it will form part of an existing series and feature short essays on key works by 180 artists. Later this month, I will be a panelist for the City of New Department of Cultural Affairs' Percent for Art program, and in July I will be a visiting critic at the Omi International Arts Center's residency program. †
